The Role of Women

A famous Afghan saying is "a woman is the light of a family." By extension, we can say that women are the lights of society. Kandahar Treasure believes that women will play a major role in bringing peace to Afghanistan. By providing for their families and investing in the future of their children, women are creating a society of caring and responsible citizens that will push violence away. The passion for peace lives in each woman's heart, and women are beginning to see that they can actively participate in the social and economic lives of their community and ultimately the peace process.
